Janine is an associate with RCR. She received her Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and her Bachelor of Arts from Grand Valley State University. She is part of our firm’s personal injury, insurance coverage, and commercial litigation practices, and also handles estate planning.
When not working, Janine enjoys camping with her husband and their dog in their classic Volkswagen camper van. She is also an avid reader and dedicated hiker.

Dismissed With Prejudice
RCR Attorney Janine Plourde recently obtained summary disposition in favor of a vehicle owner who was sued for injuries arising out of a car accident that allegedly involved her vehicle. Under Michigan law, a vehicle owner can be held 100% liable for injuries in such cases. But Janine successfully proved that her client had not consented to the use of her vehicle and, as such, the claims against Janine’s client were dismissed with prejudice.

RCR attorney’s Yosef C. Klein and Janine M. Plourde obtained summary disposition on behalf of an insurer following a car versus motorcycle accident. The claimant motorcyclist spent substantial time in the hospital and underwent multiple surgeries. Our client insured the driver of the vehicle. We pursued a declaratory judgment action. On summary disposition, the Court agreed that our client owed no coverage in connection with the accident because the vehicle being driven by the insured at the time of the accident was available for the insured’s regular but was not listed on his policy.
